Problem Scenario: Staying Focused During Online Study Sessions

  • Ideal Situation: Stay focused and productive during online lectures and tutorials.
  • Reality (Gap): I often get distracted during asynchronous lessons especially when I study alone at home.
  • Causes/Conditions: I check my phone frequently, get distracted by social media, or think about other tasks.
  • Effects/Results: Procrastination, reduced productivity, and stress about falling behind.
  • Goal: Be prepared for lessons by reading up on the content beforehand to maximize efficiency and feel more confident.
  • Possible Changes:
    • Designate a dedicated study area to minimize distractions.
    • Limit phone usage by putting it in another room or turning it off.
    • Set a goal to achieve before you can take a break and use your phone.
  • Testing the Hypothesis (Solution): Create a study space, turn off the phone, and set a target for what you want to achieve during this time.
  • Outcome of Change: Increased focus and productivity, finishing tasks on time with reduced stress.
